Principals Academy

Principals Academy This three-year academy is aligned to PA Inspired Leadership (PIL)-3 core standards and can count for Principal Induction. Participants engage in ongoing, online discussion board items to share ideas and concerns.

Between 25 to 35 PIL-Act 48 hours are annually earned.

Year 1 — Gaining an understanding of your leadership style, a historial overview of the distict and building you are leading, and effectively creating a culture that embraces change to improve student achievement.

Year 2 — Understanding gthe Standards Aligned Systems (SAS), identifying strengths and weaknesses of your school in carious components of SAS, and effective use of professional development for professional staff. Develop an artful use of infrastructure.

Year 2 — Understanding data to make programmatic changes to better enhance staff knowledge and skills to increasingly meet student needs. Making decisions based on internal and external data.

BU's Magee Center

  • 14 to 16 PIL hour in class instruction
  • 16 to 20 PIL hours of job-embedded assignments
  • Program can count for Principal Induction
  • Each year will include a minimum of 25 PIL hours and up to a maximum of 36 PIK hours to allow flexibility for each participant
