Superintendents Academy
This annual academy focuses on current research, issues and trends impacting local of school system leaders. Each year's cohort will focus on a current book that parallels PA Insprired Leadership (PIL) standards.
The academy helps participants to better:
- understand the existing and recent changes in school laws, finance, technology, demographics and other related issues facing school leaders.
- network and collaborate with other practicing system leaders to strategically plan change.
- utilize current, multiple datat sources to pilot change and improve student achievement.
- engage in authentic learning experiences relevant to leading school systems in the 21st Century.
- Assimilate the PA Leadership Standards into the daily work of superintendents across the state.
Between 36 to 60 PIL-Act 48 hours are annually earned.
BU's Magee Center
- Each year will include a minmum of 24 PIL hours and up to a maximum of 60 PIL hours to allow flexibility for each participant
- Enagge in ongoing, online discussion board items to share ideas and concerns.
Option A: 24 to 36 PIL hours of in-class instruction and job-embedded assignments.
Option B: Earn 12 to 24 PIL hours by engaging in a detailed action research project.
Option C: Special pricing to participate in both Option A and Option B in the same year to earn up to 60 PIL hours.
