Academic Coaches

An Academic Coach meets individually with students to assess strengths and areas of growth and provide encouragement so that students can excel. They work with students on motivation, organization, time management, personal accountability and basic academic skills, and then help students create and implement plans for success.

An Academic Coach can help with:

  • Managing time
  • Reading textbooks
  • Preparing for exams critically
  • Taking notes, learning new strategies/styles
  • Exploring individualized learning styles
  • Organizing material
  • Connecting to resources
  • Motivating and encouraging

How can I make an appointment with an Academic Coach?

Visit the Lower Level of Simon Hall, located between Columbia Hall and Montour Hall and request an Academic Coach appointment or call Carla Rodenhaver at 570-389-5133.

Attend your scheduled meeting: Academic Coach offices are located in lower level Simon Hall and remember to bring your material to the meeting.

What should I bring with me to my appointment?

  • And any other relevant information you think is important for the class
