Bloomsburg University graduate and undergraduate students from the exceptionality programs enrolled in Elementary Methods class with Dr. Maureen Walsh participated in the Literacy Month Celebration at the North Schuylkill Elementary School on Friday, February 27th. The BU students provided instruction to students in grades K-6 throughout the day in honor of Dr. Seuss Day.

The Special Education newsletter for graduate and undergraduate students is now available as a pdf document.
A new procedure affects undergraduate students being admitted to the program. Download an updated packet (pdf).
Please come prepared to advisement!
Reminder: You need to have a copy of your Praxis scores placed in your file. (Note: Even though you use the BU code for the Praxis test, your scores do not come to our Department; therefore, you need to make a copy for your file in the Exceptionality Programs Office.) Also PSEA Liability Insurance is only valid from September 1-August 31 of any given year no matter when you apply for it. PA Clearances are required for all students but FBI clearances for out-of-state residents are currently NOT required, due to new processing limits.
Recommendation: It is advisable to get admitted to our dual certification program and to take content courses that may enable you to "Praxis" into other certifications.
New: There is a new Praxis I composite score which may help you for admittance if one or more of your Praxis I scores is very close to the "pass" score. Check the new Praxis Certification sheet and don't forget to pick up a PRAXIS FAQs. Both these sheets are in the large cabinet in the office foyer/work area.
Programs in Special Education comprise a major component of the Department of Exceptionality Programs at Bloomsburg University. The group includes undergraduate and graduate programs with a variety of options:
