Business Programs at Bloomsburg

Business students have the opportunity to focus their studies in accounting, business education, computer information systems, finance, management or marketing. Strong academic and career advising is provided to assist in making career choices. A strong internship program allows students to experience the professional work environment before graduation. The placement rate for College of Business graduates for the past decade has averaged well over 90 per cent. The faculty has a long tradition of preparing successful business professionals.

Ozzia Harvey, a senior biochemistry major from Philadelphia and graduate of Overbook High School, recently presented- 'Synthesis and Characterization of the Tetrapeptide LSPR: A Potential Thrombin Inhibitor' as part of a summer research symposium held by the College of Science and Technology.  She chose BU because of its reputation in science and plans to go on to pharmacy school.

Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business

The College of Business is among the elite universities fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

All classrooms in the College of Business are equipped with the most up-to-date computer technology and projection systems. The electronic commerce classroom and microcomputer laboratories have an impressive array of hardware that is accessible to qualified students. A local area network interconnects faculty offices, classrooms, laboratories and other computer facilities on campus. Faculty and students have access to the Internet linking them to local, regional, national and international networks. The Andruss Library provides a large and ever expanding collection of texts, periodicals and databases to support classroom assignments.

Accounting - A major leading to a B.S.B.A. and a minor to prepare students for careers in all facets of accounting including fraud examination.

Business Education - a major leading to a B.S.Ed. and certification to teach business or computer and information technology in secondary schools. The department also offers a graduate program leading to an M.Ed. in business education.

Business Information Systems - a major leading to a B.S.B.A. and a minor addressing the use of technologies to support office work and improve employee performance and organizational effectiveness.

Computer and Information Systems - Major leading to a B.S. and a minor in a discipline that concerns itself with computer-based systems in business environments.

Finance - Major leading to a B.S.B.A. in finance and careers in both domestic and international fields of banking and financial markets. Career concentration in international business is offered, as well as an interdisciplinary minor in legal studies.

Management - Major leading to a B.S.B.A. and minor in management; also offered is a minor in entrepreneurship and a certificate program in entrepreneurship. The department also offers a graduate program leading to an MBA.

Management Information Systems - A major leading to a B.S.B.A. in a discipline that provides both a solid business core and contemporary information systems knowledge for supporting business needs.
