Transferring to BU
Any student who is in good standing with their current/previous college or university is eligible to transfer to BU. Due to the large number of applicants, a GPA of 2.5 is preferable and is required for many majors.
Transfer applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 to be considered. BU's education major requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 for consideration.
If you were once enrolled at Bloomsburg University as a degree-seeking student, do not fill out this application. You must complete the readmission application.
Please note: Majors that are closed for transfer student admission will be advertised on the Admissions Home Page.
How to apply
- Complete and submit an Online Transfer Application and $35 non-refundable fee to the Office of Admissions
- Request official high school transcripts to be sent by the school to the Office of Admissions
- Arrange to have SAT or ACT test scores sent to the university
(if transferring with less than 24 credits) - Request official college transcripts from all colleges and/or universities attended
Applicants who have earned more than 24 credits will be evaluated for admission based on their college transcripts. Students who have not completed 24 credits at the college level will be evaluated on their high school and college transcripts.
It will be necessary for students with less than 24 credits to meet the minimum admissions guidelines for freshman. Upon completion of 24 credits, SATs or ACTs are not required.
When to apply
Transfer applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the major or semester reaches capacity and is closed. Apply early, as many majors fill
up quickly and are very competitive.
