Transfer applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 to be considered. Due to the large number of applicants, a GPA of 2.5 is preferable and is required for the Communication Studies, Exercise Science, Mass Communications and Nursing majors. The Education major requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 for consideration.
All transfer candidates must have their high school transcript or GED sent to the Admissions Office. These official documents must be sent to the Admissions Office from the high school guidance office or Department of Education. Official college transcripts from each college attended must be sent to the BU Admissions Office from each college's registrar's office. SAT or ACT scores are required for students who have not completed 24 credits.
Applicants who have earned more than 24 credits will be evaluated for admission based on their college transcripts. Students who have not completed 24 credits at the college level will be evaluated on their high school and college transcripts. It will be necessary for students with less than 24 credits to meet the minimum admissions guidelines for freshman. Upon completion of 24 credits, SATs or ACTs are not required.
