Important Comments to Applicants
- The Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania scholarships described in the following links will be awarded for the 2012-2013 academic year.
- ATTENTION NEW FRESHMEN AND NEW TRANSFERS! — Unless designated as "Freshmen" OR "Transfer" under "Category", all awards are available only to CURRENTLY ENROLLED BU students. Most new freshmen and new transfer student awards will be selected during the admissions process. However, new freshmen and new transfers may refer to other award categories as a guide to what may be available for their UPPERCLASS years at BU. Revised award listings and application forms are available by December each year.
- In addition to meeting specific criteria, applicants are expected to have demonstrated good citizenship as members of the university community.
- Any references to financial need require the student to have submitted the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- Any references to satisfactory progress or academic good standing refer to the policies outlined in BU's Guide to Financial Aid available online at www.bloomu.edu/aid and the University Catalog.
- When grade point average (GPA) is a requirement, the "overall" cumulative GPA earned at Bloomsburg University during the fall semester preceding the scholarship application deadline will be used unless otherwise specified in the award criteria.
- All information submitted is subject to verification by the Financial Aid Office and may be shared with Financial Aid Committee members, university faculty, deans, and other administrators as well as award donors to the extent needed to process the scholarship application.
Application Forms and Deadlines

- If you are a new freshmen or transfer student and are eligible for an academic scholarship, the Admissions Office will send you the appropriate application. Do not use the Bloomsburg University Scholarship Application form processed by the Financial Aid Office and other university departments unless you are applying for the Bridenstine Scholarship, Doug Hippenstiel Family Scholarship, Michael Collins Theatre Scholarship, or Joseph and Joy Jacques Accounting Scholarship.

- If you are applying for several scholarships that involve different deans/chairpersons, a separate application must be submitted to each dean/chairperson.
