Center for Hearing and Balance BU's on-campus Center for Hearing and Balance is unique to northeastern Pennsylvania, offering coordinated and comprehensive services devoted specifically to diagnosing, treating, restoring and maintaining the function of the auditory and vestibular systems.

Within our facility, nationally certified audiologists, researchers, faculty, and doctorate clinicians have access to the latest treatment modalities and research protocols to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of hearing and balance patients.

The goal of our center is to provide quality, research based, hearing and balance testing, treatment, and information. Our facility provides services for newborn through the geriatric population.

Our full service audiology clinic is open to the public, where education meets life. The center is committed to providing excellent and complete hearing healthcare of our patient’s hearing and balance issues. Speech, Hearing and Language Clinic

Speech, Hearing and Language Clinic BU's on-campus Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic provides various diagnostic, therapeutic, and counseling services for both children and adults. These services are provided on an outpatient basis and are an extension of BU's graduate training programs in audiology and speech-language pathology. Services are provided and supervised by certified/licensed staff of the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology.

The Speech-Language Pathology Clinic offers a broad range of comprehensive evaluations and treatment services for adults and children who have a wide range of communication disorders and differences in the following areas:

  • Dysphagia/Swallowing
  • Voice/Resonance

Our full service speech clinic is open to the public and accepts most insurances. The clinic also provides help to individuals with speech and communication problems associated with apraxia, brain injury, cerebral palsy, cleft lip/palate, neurological diseases or disorders, language learning difficulties and stroke.
