The Bloomsburg University Television production studios are housed in McCormick Center for Human Services. Established in 1986 with the construction of McCormick Center, the station has evolved greatly over the past 25 years. Most recently, the studios were upgraded to High Definition in January 2009 along with the intallation of an Apple Xsan network storage envrironment for tapeless production. BUTV broadcasts student productions, campus programming, and syndicated material over local cable channel 8 (scaled down to standard definition 4:3). Plans for a 24 hour HD broadcast channel and live web stream are currently underway.
