There’s a giraffe at BU?

Donna Rae Green Donna Rae Green will read, “There is a Giraffe in my Backyard,” a book she wrote with her grandson on April 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Campus Child Care Center. Growing up in the 50’s, in a small Rockwell-like town in New York’s Catskill Mountains, was a magical and creative time for Green. It was during that time she began writing short stories. These stories would then transport her yet again, but this time into adult life, realizing all her dreams and accomplishments.

Fast forward to when Sammy, her grandson was playing in his back yard. He looked up into the tall trees and saw a giraffe. Green quickly seized the moment to capture his imagination with questions and his answers were telling a story. At that moment, “There is a Giraffe in my Backyard” came to life.
