Colleges Against Cancer is devoted to raising money and awareness for cancer in and around the Bloomsburg community and on campus. We work directly with the American Cancer Society to collaborate ideas and activities to accomplish our goals.

Some activities we have done in the past are:

• selling breast cancer T-shirts
• hosting a breast cancer carnival on campus
• handing out flyers about cancer awareness
• participating in student health fairs
• and our biggest event ... Relay For Life

Relay for Life

Relay For Life is a international event where any college, community or town can participate in. On Bloomsburg’s campus the relay is a twelve hour event where clubs, fraternities, sorority’s and individuals can participate in. Anyone can create a team of individuals to raise money in support of the American Cancer Society.

Our event is a 12-hour relay starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 7 a.m. The colleges against cancer club plans out activities, themed laps and things to do during the relay to make it a great event to be a part of. The job of the team is to raise as much money as possible before the event. Things like car washes, bake sales, canning and restaurant nights are things teams have done in the past.

There are many responsibilities that come with planning the relay and getting the campus involved with cancer awareness and the goals of the club. We are looking for anyone who can give any input or help in any way to make Relay and Colleges Against Cancer the best it can be.
