Convenient Location

Located in central Pennsylvania along Interstate 80, Bloomsburg University is an accessible destination for travelers from anywhere in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and neighboring states. The Bloomsburg area is served by commercial bus lines as well as several major airlines operating from Wilkes-Barre's Avoca International Airport and the Williamsport Regional Airport. Availability

BU hosts a variety of professional conferences and events year-round. Housing is available on campus during the summer months and at local hotels during the academic year.

Experienced planners

Experienced event planners assist clients with conference logistical arrangements, obtain the services of appropriate campus support personnel, and provide on-site technical assistance during conference proceedings. In our "one stop" shop, your group's leaders can simplify your event planning by making most of your logistical arrangements through a single campus office.

Conference lodging

Overnight guests reside in modern residence halls which are clustered adjacent to the conference dining, meeting, and parking facilities. Guests can select from among three on-campus housing options during the summer: double occupancy residence hall rooms with public restrooms and bathing facilities; two-bedroom, four-person apartment units with kitchenettes; or six-bedroom, six-person apartment units with kitchenettes.

Food service and catering

The University's food service is operated by the ARAMARK Corporation. Conference groups contract directly with ARAMARK for daily meal service, refreshments, and special catering. Meals are served scatter court-style in the Scranton Commons. Banquets, outdoor picnics, buffets, formal receptions, special menu items, and other catering services can be tailored to suit the needs of your group.

Meeting facilities

Campus meeting rooms are pleasant, clean, and functional with seating capacities ranging from 20 to 1900. Meeting facilities feature small seminar rooms, traditional classrooms, formal and informal lounges, a dozen medium-sized auditoriums for 100-300 occupants, executive-style training rooms, and three large-scale air-conditioned auditoriums (two with 600 seating capacities and one 1900 person concert hall). The Kehr Student Union is our most versatile meeting place; hotel-like in its elegance, room capacities to suit every purpose and an ambiance for every occasion. The Kehr Union offers a 600-seat ballroom (divisible into three 200-seat sections) with state-of-the-art sound and projection systems, two 200-person multipurpose rooms, a 75-seat coffeehouse with stage, a 75-seat Multicultural Center, and several conference rooms with 10-50 seat capacities. Monty's on the upper campus is our newest conference facility. Meeting facilities include a formal reception/registration area, a 100-seat executive-style assembly room which can be divided into three breakout rooms, and a 250-seat dining room with an outstanding view of the "only Town in Pennsylvania".

Recreational opportunities

Recreational opportunities abound at Bloomsburg. There are lighted outdoor tennis courts, a versatile athletic field house, plenty of playing fields, jogging trails, indoor/outdoor track facilities, racquetball courts, a video games room, and an outdoor volleyball court.
