Dean Robert Marande

Robert Marande I can only feel pride for the group of students, faculty and staff that represent the College of Science and Technology. Our college students, faculty and staff continually strive to put their best foot forward and achieve great results in their endeavors.

The faculty members of this college spend numerous hours on research and writing grant proposals. Not only do these grants provide financial means to the faculty for continued research and scholarship but they provide opportunities for our students to be involved in learning outside of the traditional classroom through research and hands on experiences.

Research in the college will find us running with Olympians, traveling in space and hiking through the bush country of Africa. Dr. Reza Noubary, Department of Mathematics, Computer Science & Statistics, is combining his love of sports and math together and working with the United States Olympic committee on predicting and improving runners' performances. Dr. Michael Shepard, Department of Geography and Geosciences, has asteroid 20392 named after him. Ms. Deborah Hunsberger, a senior Biology and Biochemistry major, spent two months in South Africa working on conservation projects. Research in the college continues to grow and travel in many interesting ways beyond the campus boundaries.

I want to say thank you for giving me the honor of serving next to all these fine students, faculty and staff as the dean of the College of Science and Technology.
