The testing center maintains applications and information about national testing examinations including: the PRAXIS series examinations for beginning teachers, the Miller Analogies Test (MAT), the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) Subject Tests, and the College Level Examination Program (CLEP). Bloomsburg University administers the following tests as described below.

NOTE: Paper-based PPST exams are NOT offered in September, March and June. However, they are available through computer-based testing. Register for computer-based PPSTs online: www.ets.org/praxis.

Bloomsburg University CANNOT accept requests for standby testing (walk-ins). You MUST be pre-registered for our test center to take these exams at BU. Registration: http://www.ets.org/praxis

Location: On test day, registered examinees must report to the CENTENNIAL HALL LOBBY with their Praxis Admission Ticket and valid picture ID with signature no later than the times listed below:

Session 1 - 7:30 a.m.
Session 2 - 10:30 a.m.
Session 3 - 2:00 p.m.

The Miller Analogies Test (MAT)

Paper-based and Computer-based MAT exams are administered monthly on Fridays in the testing center within the Residence Life Office, Elwell Hall. MAT registration booklets are available in the Residence Life Office (Elwell hall), at the Information Desk in Kehr Union, and in the Graduate Studies Office (2nd floor, Centennial Hall). Paper-based testing is available at 8:30 am on each testing date. Computer-based testing is available at 10:00 am or 1:00 pm on each testing date.

Where: Residence Life Office, ground floor of Elwell Hall
When: Administered once each month on a Friday. Requests for individual testing on Monday-Thursday may be made by calling 570-389-4112.
Time: Reporting times are 8:15 am, 9:45 am and 12:45 pm depending upon your assigned testing time. It takes about 30 minutes to check in and complete the required demographic information. The test begins at 8:30 am, 10:00 am or 1:00 pm depending upon your assigned time. The exam itself takes one (1) hour.
Fee: $65 payable by check or money order to "Bloomsburg University" Mail or drop off the check to the Business Office in Waller Administration Building. The test fee cannot be refunded if you are absent from the exam. There is a $10 administrative fee to postpone your test date.
Registration: Reservations for the test may be made by completing the registration form (pdf, 46k) found inside the front cover of the Registration Bulletin (pdf, 6.1mb) . Registration Bulletins are available in the Graduate Office (Centennial Hall) and in the Residence Life Office (Elwell Hall). Send your completed registration form along with payment to the Business Office. Once fees are paid, your registration form and paid receipt go to the University Testing Office, a seat is assigned and a confirmation is sent to you. Should you be unable to keep your appointment for testing, we would appreciate a phone call.
Re-Test Admissions: If you have taken the Miller Analogies Test within the last 12 months, you should have received a re-test admission ticket with your score report. You must present the re-test admission ticket to take the test again within a 12-month period. Should you take the test without the re-test admission ticket, your test will be voided upon receipt by the testing company.
Scores/Reports: Take approximately 3-4 weeks. An unofficial score is available only for the computerized-test at the end of the exam, for your own information. Your Registration includes sending score reports to up to (3) three institutions of your choice. Scores can be sent to additional institutions for a fee. Contact Harcourt Assessment for more information.
Day of the Test: Bring the following with you to the test: your Registration Confirmation form, photo-bearing driver's license, social security card (or passport), sharpened # 2 pencils, and the names/addresses of up to three institutions where you want your MAT scores sent.
Parking: Parking is available in the tri-level parking garage next to Elwell hall. A parking pass is required. Please arrive early and go to Campus Police to get the parking pass.
Test Preparation: Test preparation books may be purchased at the University Bookstore or public book stores.

The computerized GRE General test is NOT administered on campus. However, it is given year-round at computer-based test centers in the U.S., Canada, and many other countries. Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. See: www.ets.org/gre

College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

Computer-based tests

CLEP exams are administered monthly on Fridays in the testing center within the Residence Life Office, Elwell Hall. Click here for a Registration form (42k).
