Robert Gibble

Chairperson Robert J. Gibble

Robert J. Gibble, of Southwest Fort Myers, Florida, was appointed to the Council of Trustees in 1999. President of Gibble Consulting LLC, which focuses on assisting CPA firms nationally on various practice management issues, and retired Managing Partner of Beard Miller Company LLP, Certified Public Accountants and Consultants in Reading, Pa., he received a bachelor's degree in business education from Bloomsburg University in 1968. Gibble was named to Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities in 1968, was elected to the Bloomsburg University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1994, and was the recipient of the university's Distinguished Service Award in 2000.

After graduation, he played two years for the Oakland Athletics major league baseball team, then joined Ernst and Young in Reading as a manager of audit services. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Gibble currently is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Reading Hospital and Medical Center and The Bachman Company, Reading, Pa. board of directors and the Bloomsburg University Foundation Board. He formerly served on the board of directors of the Bloomsburg University College of Business Advisory Board, the Pa, Chamber of Business and Industry, and the Manufacturers Association of Berks County. He also served as treasurer and director of the Fund for the Advancement of the State System of Higher Education and as president of the Reading Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs, Berks County Mental Health Association, St. Joseph Hospital Development Corporation and Bomenann Health Services Inc. Gibble has been a director of the Berks County Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Sinking Spring Recreation Board and a coach for Junior American Legion and Little League baseball.

Steven Barth

Vice Chair Steven B. Barth

Steven B. Barth, of Lewisburg, was appointed to the Council of Trustees in 1998. The senior vice president and loan officer at Community Bank, Milton, Pa., received a bachelor's degree in business administration and economics from Lycoming College in 1978 and an MBA from Bucknell University in 1986. During his career, he has served on the staffs of Northern Central Bank, Commonwealth Bancshares Corporation/Meridian Bank and West Milton State Bank. Civic activities have included the United Way, Boy Scouts, Go Northumberland, Seda Cog Foundation Board and Loan Committee, Frosty Valley Country Club, Danville Area Community Center Board and Ralpho Township Municipal Sewer Authority.

Marie Conley

Secretary Marie Conley

Marie Conley, is employed at Hallowell Branstetter and Long, a political consulting firm based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. As a member of this firm, Conley lends her expertise as she blends her fundraising and political skills to aid candidates in all aspects of campaigns.

For the last three years, she served as the Executive Director of the Friends of Tom Corbett Committee where she oversaw the fundraising and political outreach for his campaign. In November of 2002, she managed the start-up of his political operation. Additionally she served as his Finance Director, where he won a contested primary battle in April of 2004 and then went on to win the general election in November.

Conley was the Finance Director for Mike Fisher in his bid for governor in 2002. She also served as the Finance Director for the Pennsylvania Republican State Committee for over three years. Conley held key roles within the Ridge Administration as his Scheduler and Deputy Director for Southeastern Pennsylvania. She has served as a consultant on the campaigns of Senator Arlen Specter, Senator Rick Santorum, Governor Linda Lingle and as well as many other state and local officials.

In addition to her fundraising and political experience, Marie served as the 2004 Convention Director for the Pennsylvania Delegation for the Republican National Convention in New York. She was the Convention Coordinator in 2000 for the Pennsylvania Delegation in Philadelphia. In 1999, she was the Director of the Governor Ridge's Inaugural Ball in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Conley is the Chairman of the Human Resources Committee on the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and is the Secretary for Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania Board of Trustees. She is married to Chris Lammando and they have one son, Carter.

Ramona Alley

Ramona H. Alley, office manager at the Alley Medical Center in Berwick, has been a member of the Council of Trustees since 1983 and is past chair, vice chair and secretary of the council. Mrs. Alley has been a trustee of the YMCA since 1989 and has served as president of that group, and is past president of the Columbia County Medical Auxiliary. She has served on the Penn Wood Girl Scout Council for three years and holds Girl Scouting's highest rank, and is active in the Thespian Society.

Mrs. Alley also serves on the Berwick Hospital Chairity Ball committee, and was chair in 1994 and 1995. She is a member of the WVIA Public Television Board of Trustees executive committee, is past president of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and was the Columbia County Presidential Campaign chair for the Reagan-Bush 1988 campaign, the 1992 Bush-Quayle campaign, the Gov. Thornburgh Campaign county chair and the county senior citizen coordinator for the Gov. Tom Ridge campaign. Mrs. Alley served on Gov. Casey's judicial selection board.

Mrs. Alley holds a bachelor of science degree in social sciences and communications from East Tennessee State University and was active in a number of campus activities. The wife of Dr. Ali A. Alley, a family practice specialist, she is the mother of five children.

James D'Amico

James F. D'Amico of Mount Carmel is the Council of Trustees student representative. A senior majoring in elementary education, D'Amico has been employed with Quest as a Web manager. He is also president of the Student Pennsylvania State Education Association, senator for the Community Government Association and a member of Kappa Delta Pi, international honor society in education. D'Amico is active in the Boy Scouts, the Association for Supervision of Curriculum and Development and the Association for Childhood Education International.

Robert Dampman

Robert Dampman '65, of Ringtown, the former superintendent of the Bensalem Township School District, was appointed BU Trustee by Gov. Ed Rendell in November 2003. Dampman's appointment runs until Jan. 20, 2009. Currently a legislative assistant to state Sen. Robert Tomlinson and member of the North Schuylkill School Board, Dampman's education career in education included service as social studies teacher, guidance counselor, principal and district superintendent. His service has been at Bensalem High School, Cecelia Snyder Middle School and the Bensalem district office. He's made numerous presentations to community, civic and professional groups on topics ranging from education issues to time management and, since retiring in December 1994, he's fulfilled temporary administrative assignments in Perkasie and Kintnersville.

LaRoy Davis

LaRoy G. Davis,of Feasterville, was appointed to the Council of Trustees in 1980. A former social studies teacher at Bensalem Township High School, he is a graduate of Ashland High School and received a bachelor's degree in comprehensive social science in 1967 from Bloomsburg State College and a master of arts degree in sociology and economics from Trenton State College in 1972. Davis holds supervisory certificate from Bloomsburg University and did post-masters work at Bloomsburg, The Pennsylvania State Univesity, Temple University and Marywood College. He is a former chair and vice chair of the council of trustees and has served as president of the Bensalem Township Education Association and has served in a variety of posts with the Pennsylvania State Education Association. Civic activities include the United Way, Boy Scouts, World Affairs Council and the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority. Davis is a past member of the U.S. Commissoin for the Bicentennial of the U.S. Constitution, He participated in the Fulbright International Education Seminars in India in 1971 and the United Arab Republic in 1974.

Charles C. Housenick

Charles C. Housenick of Bloomsburg was appointed to the Council of Trustees in 2005. A graduate of Bloomsburg University, he was a member of the Bloomsburg Town Council for 12 years. His previous careers include president and general manager of the former Housenick Motor Co. and an account executive with the financial planning firms of E.F. Hutton and Co., Williamsport, and Oppenheimer and Co., Bloomsburg. Housenick also has a history of community service. He chaired the town's parking and municipal authorities and is a past director of the Bloomsburg Rotary Club, Columbia Montour Chamber of Commerce and Columbia Alliance for Economic Growth. His memberships include the Bloomsburg chapter of the Elks, the Eagles Mere Country Club and the Bloomsburg Fair Association.

A. William Kelly

A. William Kelly, of Kingston, was appointed to the council in 1995. A graduate of Bloomsburg University, Bill Kelly is a veteran broadcaster, having started in radio as a teen-ager in his hometown. On-air, news, sales and management roles followed in nine commercial radio stations, culminating at WARM in Scranton-Wilkes Barre, where he also volunteered for the local PBS television station. His flair for public relations, and a passion for using broadcasting for public service, led WVIA Channel 44 and WVIA FM 89.9 to offer Kelly a job as fundraiser, the opportunity that became a career.

Over twenty-five years at WVIA, he has held leadership roles in Development/Marketing, TV and Radio Programming and Production, Cable Television Development, and Corporate Communications. He has received national (Corporation For Public Broadcasting) awards for fundraising and audience building. In 1991 he was elected President and CEO of the WVIA stations, which, as of January 1, 2001, include WVIA-DT Channel 41, America's twenty-first PBS high-definition (HDTV), digital television station.

His commitment to community service through broadcasting has resulted in several influential, locally-produced television and radio programs, including series and documentaries. Kelly keeps his on-air skills honed by personally producing and hosting a monthly, live Emmy-nominated television program, State of Pennsylvania. He regularly interviews the governor, our U.S. Senators, and other political, civic and business leaders and newsmakers on variety of important topics.

Bill Kelly's involvement with Bloomsburg University has taken many forms; advocate, volunteer, and adjunct faculty member, including a decade in BU classrooms teaching speech and mass communications courses. A former Young Alumnus of the Year, Kelly delivered the winter 1994 commencement address, at the invitation of President Kozloff in her first year as Bloomsburg University President.

He is a popular public speaker, and consultant, having addressed medical societies and bar associations on videotape depositions. His pioneering work in distance education through videoconferencing, linking WVIA professionals to students in fifteen states, has earned statewide awards and national media attention.

His community service commitments include the boards of Community Medical Center in Scranton, the Sordoni Foundation and the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts, both in Wilkes Barre.

He and his wife Suzanne reside in Kingston with their son Matthew.

Davis Petrosky

David W. Klingerman Sr., of Mainville, near Bloomsburg, was appointed to the Council of Trustees in May 2007. Vice president of JDK Management Co., which operates nursing facilities, hotels and restaurants and oversees land development projects, Klingerman has owned and operated nursing care and assisted living facilities in northeast Pennsylvania since 1981. For the past 35 years, he has owned Klingerman Farms, which produces soybeans, corn, wheat and beef cattle on more than 800 acres in Columbia County, and he formerly owned and operated Klingerman Feed and Grain Center. He served on the school board for the Bloomsburg Area School District from 1977 to 1992, including two terms as president, and was both a member and president during the inception and completion of the new middle school. Klingerman earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Columbia University where he received two varsity letters in football and was named honorable mention All-Ivy. He also obtained certification as a licensed nursing home administrator in 1983. Klingerman and his wife, the former Donna Kline, have four children and nine grandchildren.

Joseph Mowad

Joseph J. Mowad, M.D., of Danville, was appointed to Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania's Council of Trustees in November, 1994. He is senior vice president of Geisinger Foundation. He came to Geisinger Medical Center in 1968 as an associate in the urology department. Educated at the University of Scranton, Mowad earned his medical degree from Creighton Medical School in Omaha, Nebraska and completed his urological and surgical residency at the University of Maryland. Dr. Mowad is the director of the Department of Urology at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville and a clinical professor of urology at Jefferson Medical College. He has served as department chair and assistant medical director at Geisinger Medical Center and assistant to the president of Geisinger Clinic. He also has served on the board of directors for many Geisinger system entities, including Geisinger Clinic, Marworth, Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center and Geisinger Medical Center. He is a member of the board for Geisinger Health Plan. Dr. Mowad is a diplomate of the American Board of Urology and is actively involved in a number of professional associations, including the American Urological Association, the American College of Surgeons and the Society of University Urologists. He chairs the Governor's Renal Disease Advisory Committee. Dr. Mowad is on the board of directors of the First National Bank of Danville and has been elected to the Fulton Financial Corporation board of directors. He has served on the Montour County Recreation Authority and as a member of the advisory board of the Montour County Advisory Board on Drug and Alcohol Problems and the Montour County Child Welfare Services.
