Summer Financial Aid

Please note, the following information is only for currently enrolled degree Bloomsburg University students.  If you are attending Bloomsburg University during the summer to transfer credits back to your home school, please contact your school's financial aid office for more information.  Bloomsburg University can not process financial aid on your behalf.

For summer 2008 financial aid, the student should try to complete the 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid by March 15, 2008  to allow for sufficient processing time.  In order to be eligible for financial aid the student, in most cases, must be enrolled for a minimum of six degree credits.

Students wishing to participate in the work-study program during the summer do not need to be enrolled for summer classes as long as the student is scheduled to return to Bloomsburg University for the fall 2008 semester on at least a half-time basis.

Students may receive a PHEAA State Grant for enrollment during the summer; however, a separate summer application is required.  The summer semester counts towards the maximum eight semesters of eligibility.  Summer PHEAA State Grant applications are available from the Office of Financial Aid in May and June or online at  www.pheaa.org.

Students may receive loans for enrollment during the summer.  NOTE:  Any loans received during the summer will apply to the yearly academic grade level limits.  Students wishing to receive a loan should check "Yes" to the question that references interests in loans on the 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

Financial aid refunds for student loans will not be available until mid-July.  Refunds of other financial aid programs will be paid in August once the credits have been completed.

Students who wish to apply for summer financial aid should schedule an appointment with Financial Aid Staff once they have scheduled summer courses.
