Early Childhood Education (B.S.Ed.)

Early Childhood Education BU's early childhood education (N-K-3) undergraduate program provides students with knowledge of:

  • the nature of the child
  • the nature of the school and center
  • the learning process
  • general methods of teaching
  • methods of teaching particular subjects
  • as well as providing teaching experience

A total of 69 semester hours is taken in required courses — none taken on a pass/fail basis. An area of concentration is optional. However, no free electives are available. In addition to the 120-credit requirement for a bachelor's degree, early childhood education majors are subject to background checks and passage of PRAXIS exams.
