BU's Department of Early Childhood and Adolescent Education offers undergraduates an opportunity to pursue a bachelor's degree in early childhood education (PK-4), as well as content specific mid-level education. See below for program options.

Graduating May 2013 or After (Incoming Freshmen)

Undergraduate Admissions Packet and Program Check Sheet. Incoming freshmen must select from one of the following programs.

Due to certification changes implemented by the PA Department of Education, be certain you’re using the correct check sheet. Your advisor is not responsible if you are using the incorrect sheet. If you are uncertain, please consult your advisor.

Graduate Program Requirements Packet

Must be completed by the end of TWO semesters. Please see your advisor as soon as possible for guidance with the completion of this requirement. Please be advised, it's ultimately your responsibility to get this packet completed and into the early childhood and adolescent education office within the time outlined in the packet.

Reading Conference

Reading, Literacy and Learning Conference BU's Reading, Literacy and Learning Conference features renown authors and speakers covering key education topics, such as concepts of co-teaching and how to use children's book to incite young writers.

Professor Emeritus

The contributions of Frank Misiti, Ph.D., cover a period of 38 years of service to the educational community, to local, regional, and national education agencies, and the teaching profession. Misiti’s experience shows that throughout his career, he has excelled at effective teaching, scholarship, and service. As a highly effective teacher, Misiti has made an impact on several generations of pre-teacher candidates in his courses. His classes had always been among the first to be filled, usually to capacity.
