English Minors and Internships
Internships
Students with 60 or more hours completed should consider an internship. Opportunities exist in the University Writing Center, in a variety of other campus and town locations, as well as in Harrisburg and neighboring communities, and this "real-world" experience is a valuable credential in life after BU.
English Internships
These internship provide academic credit for experience both within the university and in the community. English majors have in past years found internship opportunities at the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble, the Town Hall, the Chamber of Commerce, and at the University Development Office.

Internships for tutoring in the Writing Center are available to students in any major who are superior writers and communicators. Training is provided, so no previous tutoring experience is necessary.

Many others are available. The newly created Professional Writing minor, which is housed here in the department, was created to support the major tracks in the department.
