How my gift benefits BU
Bloomsburg University is focused on affordability and accessibility. To maintain the ability to provide top-quality education and meet the demand of ever-increasing costs, BU relies strongly on the gifts of alumni, parents and friends. With state funding providing only 36% of the university budget, tuition and gifts must make up the rest.
Many students could not pursue a university education without your support. In 2006-2007, more than a million dollars provided 765 BU students with scholarships.
Gifts to the Bloomsburg University Foundation help keep tuition at a reasonable level and provide the margin of excellence BU needs to give students a great education. Your support provides:
- Scholarships, including academic, athletic, leadership and need-based
- Support of university excellence, including Presidential Leadership Programming, Provost's Lecture Series, equity programs and improvements to campus
- Faculty support and research grants, including Margin of Excellence and TALE Teaching Awards
- Student support, including professional opportunities and guest lectures
- Enhancements to campus resources, particularly the Andruss Library
- Support to athletic programs and teams
- Alumni programming
- Administrative support and continuing education
- Capital improvements, for example, the Alumni House, Robert D. Warren Student Services Center and the Magee Center
