Establish or add to an endowment

When you make a gift of $10,000 or more to establish a named endowment fund, you insure that your giving will continue forever. Your gift is combined with other similar-purpose funds and invested in perpetuity. Each year, a percentage of the earnings is used to make awards for student scholarships or support specific programs and areas of study.

The minimum level for permanent endowment of a fund is $10,000. This amount may be given at one time or built up over a five-year period. Additional monies may be added at any time by you or anyone else (family, friends, co-workers) to increase the fund and therefore the award.

Use the printable worksheet for help as you consider an endowment fund and work through the process of establishing one. Contact the Foundation if you have any questions along the way.

Not all endowment funds managed by the Foundation are designated for specific uses. University-wide endowment funds can be used to benefit any program or initiative deemed a priority. You may give to increase this pool of funding by indicating that you want your gift to be used for "Endowment."
