What is the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund supports all aspects of a Bloomsburg University education, providing tuition assistance, library resources, funds for student research, arts and athletics, and student activity programming. It also supports alumni programming.
Who supports the Annual Fund?
People just like you -- Bloomsburg University alumni; faculty and staff; former and current parents; university friends; businesses.
How does the Annual Fund differ from the Alumni Fund?
There is no separate Alumni Fund. The Bloomsburg University Foundation supports alumni programming through its Annual Fund. Gifts from alumni, friends and others support alumni events and services.
Are Annual Fund gifts tax deductible?
Yes! Gifts to the Bloomsburg University Foundation, a 501c(3) charitable organization, are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
What are restricted and unrestricted gifts?
An "unrestricted" gift is applied toward areas of greatest need within the university. A gift designated to a department, program or sport is "restricted" for that specific purpose; please contact the Foundation or the dean for the area you are interested in for more information.
What is a matching gift?
Many companies offer a matching gift program as a part of their employee benefits package. These programs allow you, the employee, to direct your organization's philanthropy to the benefit of Bloomsburg University. If you or your spouse work for or have retired from a matching gift company, you may be able to double or even triple your support to the university. Most companies match dollar for dollar. As a donor, your giving level in the Report of Annual Giving will include credit for matching gift participation. Contact your Human Resources Department for more information.
What is the BU Foundation's fiscal year?
Our fiscal year begins July 1 and ends June 30.
