Gender and Women's Studies BU's Gender Studies, an interdisciplinary program, uses gender as a category of analysis to understand cultural configurations.

The minor examines how definitions of masculine and feminine difference constitute:

  • social
  • aesthetic
  • economic
  • historical structures
  • perceptions
  • ... within historical and trans-national contexts.

The Gender Studies program offers cross-listed courses in eight departments across campus. Course topics range from Human Sexuality to African American Women Writers. The program co-sponsors events with campus groups and offices, and more.

Eighteen credit hours are required to complete this minor program.
