Bloomsburg Hospital is asking students who escort an ill friend to the ER to limit the number of escorts to one. The hospital staff is seeing a high number of students escorting friends, which is crowding the small ER and causing disruptions.

H1N1 flu vaccine

The health center will be administering the H1N1 injectable vaccine to students only by appointment until Nov. 20 or until supplies are gone. After this date, the health center will no longer have the vaccine. Call the Student Health Center at 389-4451 to schedule an appointment.

Free Meningococcal Vaccine

The Pennsylvania Department of Health is piloting a new program offering free Meningococcal Vaccine to state universities for freshmen, who will be living in the dorms, and for international students during the 2009-10 academic year. Call the health center at 389-4451 for an appointment to receive the meningitis vaccination or to speak with a nurse for more information.
