Eligibility for Care at the Student Health Center
Because the health center is totally funded by student fees, only students are eligible for health center services. BU faculty and staff, and all campus visitors, needing medical care will be taken to or instructed to go to the Bloomsburg Hospital emergency room or to their private health care provider.
Full-time Students
If you're a full time student taking nine or more credits, the health center fee of $62 per semester is included in the fees with your tuition. In addition to paying the health center fee, you must have a completed health form on file. If you've met these two conditions, you may use all services offered at the health center.
Part-time Students
If you're taking less than nine credits, you will not be billed the health center fee with your tuition. However, you can still submit a completed health form and pay the $62 fee at the health center. This will entitle you to all services offered at the health center.
Other Students
Summer students pay a health center fee based on the number of credits taken during the summer. All health center services are available if a completed health form is submitted.
Some students are exempt from a Health Service Fee:
- Faculty and staff who are taking academic courses
- Student teachers and students registered in extension courses
- Students on internships not residing in the Bloomsburg area may request an exemption with a written request to the business office.
