Health Insurance

The university strongly recommends all students have appropriate accident and sickness insurance coverage. The health center fee only covers basic medical care received at the Student Health Center.
If you do not carry health insurance, the university will not be held responsible for costs of health care received at other medical facilities such as: diagnostic testing, hospitalization, emergency room visits, prescription medication, etc. These costs will be your responsibility.
Health insurance is a requirement for all international students attending classes at Bloomsburg University. International students who do not show proof of insurance coverage will have a HOLD placed on their records until the insurance information is received by the Office of International Education.
Insurance options
- If you do not have health insurance, you are free to purchase any insurance plan of your choice.
- Or, you may choose to purchase Consolidated Health Plan, which is endorsed by several of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Universities.
This student health insurance plan is designed to meet the needs of the individual student at the least possible cost, balancing necessary coverage with affordability. A separate mailing, from the insurance company, which details the insurance coverage and cost, will be sent to all students.
All questions concerning claims and coverage of this insurance should be referred directly to the company.
