Professional Search / Office of Technology

Bloomsburg University of PA is seeking qualified applicants for a systems analyst responsible for implementing projects as defined by Office of Technology (OT) management (AA#03-3-108). Works closely with Office of Technology management and other university management to evaluate requests for information services. Performs administration of application systems. Manage daily operational issues for production systems. Participates in the evaluation, selection, design and implementation of new systems. Evaluates institutional practices and re-engineers processes to improve operations and services. Responsible for all phases of the software life cycle: analysis, design, development, implementation, and documentation. Primary responsibilities will be support of and development in the Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions system.

The successful candidate will, after a period of employment up to 24 months, be eligible for an upgrade to the management 190 classification. In order to be granted this upgrade, certain predefined proficiencies and skills must be achieved.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, management information systems or related field and six months of application development experience or Associate’s Degree and three years of application development experience. Internships are acceptable experience. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations is preferred.

Preferred candidates will possess skills and experience in either an application development environment (object-oriented programming, relational databases, business intelligence solutions, C++, Oracle, Oracle development tools, .NET, Java or large-scale package software like PeopleSoft. Proficiency in SQL is highly desirable.
