Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, NCAA Division II (NCAA Division I Wrestling), seeks a full-time Assistant Sports Information Director to assist in day-to-day operation of Sports Information Office. The ASID will work in conjunction with the SID to ensure comprehensive coverage for all women’s and men’s athletic events. Areas of responsibility include developing and maintaining Intercollegiate Athletics Website; assisting in production of internet audio and video segments; preparing news releases; writing for university, state and national magazines; helping prepare and design media guides, game programs and other materials; responding to media requests; providing in-game statistical work for a variety of sports, including football, lacrosse, basketball and wrestling; and providing pre-game statistical information and notes. Will assist the director with athletic marketing and promotions initiatives, including the solicitation of businesses for the corporate partner program for the benefit of athletic scholarships. Travel to events or activities required.
Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field (master’s degree preferred); strong written and verbal communication skills; 2 years experience in sports information; solid understanding of sports and sports statistics. Proficiency in Stat Crew statistical software; video technology and desktop publishing, specifically InDesign and PhotoShop, is desired. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred. Finalist(s) for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process.
