Public Relations Assistant Professor
The Department of Mass Communications at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is seeking applicants in public relations for a full-time, permanent tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor for Fall 2014 (AA# 27-3-40/Ext). In addition to teaching public relations courses in campaigns, writing, and theory, applicants are expected to be able to teach in the department core, which includes newswriting. Voluntary summer contracts may be available. Ongoing scholarship and service is expected. Professional experience and membership in Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is preferred. Earned doctorate in public relations or relevant field is required. ABD considered with anticipation of degree completion by Aug. 18, 2014.
Finalists for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process. Candidates must be able to demonstrate ability to work with diverse populations. Informational and technological literacy is required. Recommendation for hiring will be based on a majority vote of the regular, full-time faculty. Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, and criminal background check.
