Digital Media/Two-Dimensional Design – one-year, full-time, temporary (sabbatical replacement) – Starting fall, 2014

The Department of Art and Art History at Bloomsburg University of PA, a student-focused institution, seeks a high-energy, dedicated individual to teach all levels of digital art and digital print design and a foundation course in two-dimensional design (AA#30-3-172/Ext). The position is a one-year, full-time, temporary appointment as Instructor, for the academic year of 2014-2015. Salary competitive.

The studio art program at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is committed to a strong interdisciplinary fine arts curriculum stressing both technical and conceptual skills combined with theoretical and practical experience in digital media. The position requires teaching introductory to advanced levels of digital art and digital print design and a foundation course in two-dimensional design as well as sharing in the maintenance and oversight of a Macintosh-based digital lab. Candidates should be active artists/designers with a portfolio representing innovative conceptual and strategic thinking, strengths in typography and print design, design fluency across media, and technology skills.

Requirements: M.F.A. in digital media or related field from an accredited institution required by August 22, 2014, successful teaching experience beyond T.A., and a strong record of current exhibitions or professional activity required. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred. Finalist(s) must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process as judged by the department faculty. Recommendation for hiring is needed by the majority of the regular, full-time faculty in the department.
