The Department of Music, Theatre and Dance at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a full time, tenure track position as Assistant Professor, beginning fall 2013 to teach Applied Piano, Class Piano, and Keyboard Skills. Additional teaching assignments based on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will share our commitment to teaching and learning and be an active participant in student recruitment efforts on and off campus. Our program is NASM accredited and serves approximately 70 majors with emphases in Music Education, Music Liberal Arts, and Audio Recording. Instructional delivery can occur through traditional, on-line and alternative methods and can occur on the main campus or off-site educational locations. Voluntary summer contracts may be available.

Minimum Requirements:

Earned doctorate in Piano Performance or related field from an accredited institution required by August 24, 2013. Higher education experience in teaching applied piano and class piano required. Profile as an active solo performer and/or collaborator, and demonstrated potential for continuing growth in creativity/scholarship. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred. Demonstration of all minimum requirements must be evident in the application process.

Finalists for the position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and teaching demonstration. Recommendation for hiring is needed from a majority of the regular, full-time faculty within the department.
