Department of Geography and Geosciences

Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania (BU) invites applications for 2 full-time, tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level to teach upper level courses as well as introductory level geoscience courses to complete a 12 contact-hour per semester teaching load. For one position (AA# 41-7-316), persons with a background in Groundwater Hydrology and Geomorphology will have the highest priority. For the second position (AA#41-7-317), persons with expertise in Mineralogy, Petrology and Structural Geology will receive fullest consideration. A Ph.D. is preferred; exceptional ABDs near completion will be considered.

The preferred candidates will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level in an outdoor field setting and an interest in supervising undergraduate research. Finalists for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process, including research presentation and teaching demonstration, as judged by the department faculty. Recommendation for hiring is needed by the majority of the regular, full-time dept. faculty. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred.
