Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a one-year temporary full-time position beginning August 2013 (AA# 45-2-280). Responsibilities include teaching 12 credit hours (four courses, a maximum of three different preparations) per semester. Ability to teach Principles of Sociology, Marriage and Family, and Sociology of Gender is required. There may be an opportunity to teach additional courses in the candidate’s area of specialization.
The minimum qualification is ABD in Sociology. Ph.D. in Sociology and college level teaching strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred. Finalist(s) for this position must communicate well and successfully complete a phone interview. Recommendation for hiring is needed by the majority of the regular, full-time department faculty. Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, and criminal background check. Completing this search is contingent upon available funding.
