Audiologist

The Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology in the College of Science and Technology at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is seeking to hire an audiologist to teach in our four-year Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program. We are looking for professionals with areas of expertise in one or more of the following areas: cochlear implants, auditory electrophysiology, and pediatric audiology. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include academic teaching, personal research, clinical audiology in our department clinic and at local hospitals, serving on committees, mentoring research, and academic advisement. Previous teaching in graduate programs, grant writing, research publications, clinical experience and curriculum development are highly desirable. Our program consists of 26 faculty and staff who teach and/or provide supervision within the department. The faculty and staff benefit from state-of-the-art equipment in our new clinical facilities.

This is a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Rank and salary are commensurate with credentials along with a full benefits package. The position begins in the Spring 2013 semester and is a 9-month contract; however, summer employment has been consistently available.

Minimum requirements: Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Sc.D.) in Audiology or Hearing Science. Eligibility for Pennsylvania licensure, Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A), and clinical experience with cochlear implants are required. Evidence of teaching proficiency, research capability, grant writing, and demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations are preferred. Finalists must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and teaching demonstration or research presentation. Recommendation for hiring needed by the majority of the regular, full time department faculty.
