The Department of Audiology & Speech Pathology in the College of Science and Technology at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is seeking to hire a professional with expertise in areas of Speech-Language Pathology to teach in our graduate and undergraduate programs. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include academic teaching, personal research, service to department, college and university, mentoring research, and academic advisement. Previous teaching in graduate programs, grant writing, research publications, clinical experience and curriculum development are preferred. Our program consists of 24 full and part-time/temporary faculty and staff who teach and/or provide supervision within the department. The faculty and staff benefit from state-of-the-art equipment in our new clinical facilities.
This is a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Rank and salary are commensurate with credentials along with a full benefits package. The position begins in the Fall 2014 semester and is a 9-month contract; however, summer employment may be available.
Earned doctorate (Ph.D.) is required in the area of expertise. Exceptional ABD candidates will be considered with degree completion by August 15, 2014. Expertise is sought in the following areas: Speech sound disorders, articulation and phonology, phonetics, fluency, foreign accent reduction, and clinical supervision and program development. Additional areas of expertise considered as the department grows. Opportunities for research and supervision are available at multiple clinical sites. Evidence of teaching proficiency, research capability, and demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred. Must possess or must be eligible for PA licensure and must possess Certificate of Clinical Competence. Finalist(s) for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and teaching demonstration, as judged by the department faculty. Recommendation for hiring is needed from a majority of the regular, full-time faculty within the area or department conducting the search.
