The Department of Audiology & Speech Pathology in the College of Science and Technology at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is seeking to hire an Instructor/Assistant/Associate Professor of Audiology (AA# 70-8-423). We are looking for professionals with areas of expertise in one or more of the following areas: pediatric audiology, hearing science, cochlear implants, auditory electrophysiology, and psychoacoustics. Other areas of expertise would be considered. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include academic teaching, personal research, clinical audiology in our department clinic and at local hospitals, serving on committees, mentoring research, and academic advisement. Previous teaching in graduate programs, grant writing, research publications, clinical experience, and curriculum development are highly desirable. Our program consists of 26 faculty and staff who teach and/or provide supervision within the department. The faculty and staff benefit from state-of-the-art equipment in our new clinical facilities.

This is a tenure-track position. Rank and salary are commensurate with credentials along with a full benefits package. The position begins in the Fall 2010 semester and is a 9-month contract; however, summer employment has been consistently available.

Minimum requirements: Earned doctorate (Ph.D., or Sc.D.). Eligibility for Pennsylvania licensure and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) are required. Evidence of teaching proficiency and research capability are required with a demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population preferred. Finalists must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and teaching demonstration or research presentation. Recommendation for hiring needed by the majority of the regular, full-time department faculty.
