The Department of Exceptionality Programs is seeking applicants for one full-time, temporary position (Instructor/Assistant Professor) for the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 semesters. The successful candidate will have expertise in the following areas of special education: student teaching supervision and special education service provision. The position requires a master’s degree, five years of teaching experience, and relevant administrative certification or pertinent supervisory experience. Finalists will be selected based upon their relevant supervisory experience, teaching experience, ability to work with diverse populations, academic record, and references. Finalists must communicate well, successfully complete an interview process, as judged by the department faculty, and demonstrate current knowledge of the field and teacher certification requirements. Recommendation for hiring is needed from a majority of the regular, full- time faculty within the Department of Exceptionalities. Prior to a final offer of employment the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification and criminal background check.
