Essential Elements of Position:

This is an unskilled and limited semi-skilled manual laborer. The incumbent performs light and heavy manual labor tasks in a wide variety of construction and maintenance work. This position is considered an essential personnel position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Removes litter and debris from campus grounds.

Plants and maintains flowerbeds on campus using annual and perennial plants.

Assists in grounds maintenance such as mowing grass, weedwacking, mulching beds, trimming shrubs, raking leaves, maintenance on athletic fields, etc.

Assists journeyman-level trades people.

Moves furniture and equipment to various floors and buildings.

Performs snow removal for sidewalks and steps throughout campus.

Performs various grounds manual labor tasks such as digging drainage ditches, holes, trenches, cleans out culvert pipes and fills wash outs using a hand tools.

Serves as helper on large equipment, assists in servicing and making operating repairs to equipment.

Minimum Experience and Training:

No previous experience or training required.

Finalist must communicate well and successfully complete an interview.
