The Department of Academic Enrichment at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is establishing a pool of faculty applicants in developmental reading, writing, and mathematics. Candidates for each position must possess:
Reading: master's degree in Reading or related area and have at least three years’ experience in teaching developmental reading and/or study skills.
Writing: master’s degree in English or related area and at least three years’ experience teaching developmental writing or equivalent high school level English/writing.
Mathematics: master’s degree in mathematics, math education, or related area and at least three years’ experience in teaching algebra. Applicant must have a concentration in mathematics.
All applicants must have evidence of the ability to work and relate to individuals of varying backgrounds and cultures. Prefer knowledge of special problems experienced by highly under-represented, low-income, and under-prepared students. Scholarship publication/presentation and professional development experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred. Recommendation for hiring will be made by the majority of regular full-time department members. Finalist(s) for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and/or teaching demonstration, as judged by the department faculty.
Prior to a final offer of employment the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and credential verification, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance and criminal background.
