Educational Studies and Secondary Education

The Department of Educational Studies and Secondary Education at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is establishing a two-year temporary pool of faculty who could be called upon to teach undergraduate courses or supervise student teachers during the academic year and/or summer as needed.

The department also seeks temporary faculty to teach graduate courses in the Counseling program (Student Affairs, Elementary School Counseling, and Secondary School Counseling) and Principal Certification Program.

Requirements:

Minimum of Masters Degree (ABD or Ph.D. encouraged to apply), documented four years teaching, school counseling, or administrative experience in a school district, public school preferred and possession of state certification for appropriate position. Experience teaching in a middle or high school preferred for teaching undergraduate courses and supervision of student teachers. Student Affairs Counseling candidates should possess expertise in Student Affairs, College Counseling, or Higher Education Administration experience. Candidates who demonstrate the ability to work with diverse populations are preferred.

Finalist(s) for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and/or teaching demonstration. Recommendation for hiring is needed by the majority of the regular, full-time department faculty. Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, and criminal background check.
