Follow the application procedures in the announcement. After screening by a search committee, successful candidates will be required to complete an employment application, provided by the university or which can be downloaded as a pdf.


Department of History

The Department of History at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is establishing a two-year, temporary faculty teaching pool. Immediate need (spring 2009) is to cover survey courses in the history of western civilization, but applications are welcome from specialists in United States history, western civilization, or non-western history. MA in history is required and an ABD or Ph.D. is preferred. Prior collegiate level teaching experience and demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations are preferred. The majority of full-time history faculty will make recommendations for hiring from this pool. Applications for the pool can be accepted throughout the period October 2008-October 2010. Finalist(s) for all appointments from this pool must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and/or teaching demonstration.

Complete pool applications shall consist of a letter of application, a c.v., official transcripts, a statement of teaching philosophy (separate from the letter of application), and three letters of recommendation. Materials must be sent to Dr. William V.
