Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania's Department of Accounting seeks to build a pool of part-time instructors who may be called upon from time to time. Some openings may be available during from May 31, 2016 through May 31, 2018.
The pool members preferred qualifications include either: (1) an earned doctorate degree in Accounting from a regionally accredited institution; OR (2) an earned doctorate degree in a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution with appropriate professional public accounting employment or an active Certified Public Accountant license. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred. Minimum qualifications include a Master’s Degree in a business related field from a regionally accredited institution with an active accounting certification or accounting work experience within the last five years. Consideration will be given to those candidates who meet AACSB and College of Business standards for professional qualification.
Duties will include teaching classes at the undergraduate level. Courses to be taught may include but are not limited to the following: Entry-level undergraduate accounting courses: Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting. Ability to meet College of Business standards for scholarly activity is required. Instructional delivery can occur through on-line, traditional, and alternative instructional methods and can occur on main campus or off site educational locations. Voluntary summer and winter contracts may be available.
Finalists for these positions must communicate well and successfully complete the interview process, as judged by the department faculty. Recommendation for hiring is needed by the majority of the regular, full-time department faculty. Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidates will be required to submit to a background check, including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, and criminal background check.
