Department of Languages and Cultures

Language Instructors, Part-Time/Full-Time Temporary
Candidates for a temporary pool in the Department of Languages and Cultures. In anticipation of future need, the Department of Languages and Cultures is establishing a pool for part-time and/or full-time temporary instructors. Instructors may be needed to teach beginning level courses in one or more of the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.

Qualifying Experience/Education:

MA in language, language education or related field required. Native or near-native fluency in the language required. Native or near-native fluency in English required. Experience teaching beginning language courses at the college level required. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations required.

Temporary, Part-Time and/or Full-Time

April 27, 2015 through April 27, 2017

Finalist(s) for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and/or teaching demonstration as judged by the department faculty. Recommendation for hiring is needed from a majority of the regular, full-time faculty within the Languages and Cultures Department.
Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and credential verification, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance and criminal background check.
