The Department of Communication Studies at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is seeking individuals to serve as temporary, part-time faculty to teach courses at various campuses. Locations may include Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA, the Lehigh Carbon Community College campus in Schnecksville, PA, Reading Area Community College in Reading, PA, or other locations as positions become available. Qualified applicants will be included in a “pool” of individuals to fill classroom teaching assignments for undergraduate communication studies courses during the summer and academic year as needed. Possible assignments include Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Small Group Communication, Intercultural Communication, and Conflict Management and Resolution.
Applications for the pool can be accepted throughout the period December 2014 – December 2016. Minimum requirements are an earned Master’s degree in Communication Studies or related field and at least two years’ experience teaching Communication Studies at the college or university level. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred. Finalist(s) for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and/or teaching demonstration, as judged by the department faculty. Recommendation for hiring needed from a majority of the regular, full-time faculty within the department conducting the search.
