Department of Education Studies and Secondary Education

The Department of Education Studies and Secondary Education at Bloomsburg University of PA is seeking applicants for an ongoing pool of potential faculty to fill emergency and temporary openings in the areas of: School Counseling, Administrative Leadership, College Student Affairs, Secondary Education Teacher Certification/Foundations, and Student Teaching Supervision. A Master’s degree in the specified or related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the related areas are the minimal requirements. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations is preferred. A minimum of 3 years recent administrative experience for those seeking to teach in the Administrative Leadership Program is required. Supervisory certification or training is preferred for those seeking to supervise student teachers.

The application deadline for this pool is July 31, 2014. Applications will be reviewed until these positions are filled. Finalist(s) for these positions must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and/or teaching demonstration, as judged by the department faculty. Recommendation for hiring is needed by a majority vote of the regular, full-time department faculty. Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidates will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, and criminal background check.
