Department of Sociology, Social Work and Criminal Justice

Two-year Pool for Temporary Instructor/Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, Social Work and Criminal Justice.

We are seeking dynamic teachers for a two-year pool of temporary instructors for sociology, social work, and criminal justice courses. Our full-time course load is 12 credits (4 courses per semester; maximum of three preparations). The department has 14 full-time faculty and approximately 400 majors.

Master’s Degree in related field required, doctorate and college level teaching experience, and a Ph.D. in sociology, social work, or criminal justice are preferred. Finalists for a specific position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and/or teaching demonstration. Also, a demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred. Recommendation for hiring is needed from a majority of the regular, full-time faculty within the department.

Terms of employment may include temporary, part-time/full-time positions.

Appointment dates are on an as needed basis within the two year duration of the temp pool.

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
