By donating $500 or more, an individual, or a group of individuals, will be a part of the Susquehanna Society. Columbia County is blessed with a group of people who are as strong as their river. These members provide inspiration and support that continually strengthens the foundation of our communities.
"As a board member of Camp Victory and Camp HERO, I know that Camp Victory provides a unique opportunity for children to learn, grow, and establish wonderful friendships with children experiencing challenges similar to their own.
It's important for people to realize that SECA provides a way for people in our community to support such excellent programming for children in our area."

The 2009 SECA (State Employee Combined Appeal) campaign, from Sept. 21 through Oct. 23, is aimed at combining the strength of all PA state employees to support a wide variety of charitable organizations.
The organizations you select to support will fill needs that range from helping families at risk to assisting those affected by cancer or natural disasters, to providing food, shelter, and clothing to the needy. In fact, some of our own university colleagues have been helped, and many others volunteer their time to these organizations.
When you give to the SECA campaign, you choose to contribute to local agencies, to national agencies, or even to international agencies. Because of the volunteer support and low administrative costs, 90 cents on every dollar of you contribute is sent directly to the agency or agencies of your choice. Giving through the SECA campaign allows your contribution to be put to work immediately.
Please refer to:
SECA Resource Guide for a complete listing of agencies and coding information.
Payroll deduction makes it easy to give in smaller increments that add up to a lot of relief for those in need now. Every little bit helps! Even $1 per paycheck, when combined with the total university community, grows into a significant contribution. Be a part of the help! And, remember that your entire donation is tax deductible.
This year, our BU goal is $40,000. But, just as important as the total amount received, we want to increase participation to 20 percent of the university community. So, contribute in some small way and be a part of the help.

SECA was established in 1977 as the only charitable campaign allowed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in its offices statewide. This yearly drive in the fall means minimal workplace disruption and administrative costs. When state employees give through SECA, they are helping to improve the quality of life for ALL people.
