Waller Hall

Waller Hall in 1964.

Waller Hall was the College's main dormitory whose second, third, and fourth floors were occupied by female students. In addition, Waller Hall was home to the library and post office. The infirmary was located on the second floor with a registered nurse in attendance. The main lobby and the front porch served as a favorite social meeting place. Named for former Principal D. J. Waller, Jr. in 1927, this four-story building had a frontage of 165 feet and a wing 40 by 104 feet enclosing a patio and fountain. Waller Hall was completed in 1876 after the previous dormitory had been destroyed by fire. It stood for nearly a century until it was demolished in 1975 to make way for Lycoming Residence Hall.
