Introduction
With more than 210 computers, the Andruss Library acts as the largest computer lab on campus. Lab Assistants are on duty during most of the time the library is open to help solve hardware problems. All Library computers with Internet access, as well as all public or departmental labs and classrooms, require users to login. (Lobby Computers on all floors do allow searching of our Catalog, PILOT, without logging on.) To log on, students use their MyMail login and password to access the STUDENT domain, and faculty and staff use their Bloomsburg email login and password to access the BUAD domain. Members of the community with a valid Pennsylvania Resident Borrowers card may access the BULIB domain using their first and last name ( john.doe ) as the user name and their 14 digit library number as the password.
Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to back up their files by saving them to their personal drive space, more information on which may be found at http://ot.bloomu.edu/Student/lablogon.php . If you have lost a computer disk, you may check with Lost & Found at the Circulation Desk on the First Floor.

Specialized Software Windows Machines
The Library has approximately 10 Specialized Software PCs on which software provided by Academic Computing for some classes has been installed. This software changes as all specialized software is uninstalled at the end of each semester. If there is a package that a faculty member wants added to our Specialized Software PCs, they must contact Cheryl Stahler in Academic Computing (x4685) to request it.
The computers on which the specialized software is installed are located in the carrels on the Third Floor, on the East wall, over looking the commuter parking lot, next to Group Study Room 328. Check at the Reference Desk or the Circulation Desk for the list of software available.
Internet Stations
These computers are designed to access only Internet sites, including the library's catalog and most of the library's subscription databases. They do not have applications which open or create documents, e.g. Microsoft Word. Most Internet stations (Stations 11-23) are located between the Reference Collection and the classroom on the 2nd floor. Additional stations are also opposite the main elevator on each floor.
Installation of a wireless network was completed in January, 2004. Instructions for laptop users are found here.
CD-ROM LAN Stations
The Compact Disc-Read Only Memory Local Area Network (Stations 1-2) on the 2nd floor contains specialized databases that cannot be accessed via the Internet.
The CD-ROM Databases page lists the contents of the LAN.
